By the way I use melpa heavily too; but I agree with Tim on proceeding
one step at a time.

And always remember --- despite what the marketing department says, "A
steep learning curve" gets you higher faster; you dont want a flat
learning curve that gets you no where --- or worse, a downhill slippery
slope that helps you win the race to the bottom:-)
