1) I agree that the default value should just be t
   --anything more complex 
is better set by a user who is aware of what he/she is
doing, rather than the system doing some under the hood
wizardry --such wizardry always leads to maintainance
problems over time.

I dont understand the issue about dvorak --I remember using
it without any trouble at some point.
