Re: trying to find documentation for emacspeak with espeak.



To be able to build the espeak speech server on Ubuntu, you will have
to install at least the following packages:

aptitude install build-essential tcl8.3-dev tclx8.3-dev libttol libespeak-dev

Then in the linux-espeak directory do:

make -f makefile.tcl83

If you are still getting errors, you can redirect the output of make to a file to be able to more
closely inspect  it. Something like:

make -f makefile.tcl83 &> errors.log

It does not make a difference whether you run the process in
gnome-terminal or on the linux console. Since you apparently have
emacspeak running with flite, it would probably be easiest to use an
emacs shell buffer.
